The Apera Instruments EC60 Portable Pocket EC/TDS/Salinity Meter/Tester simply tests all kinds of regular conductivity measurements in an ACCURATE, QUICK, and RELIABLE manner. The applications include hydroponics, tap/drinking water, pools& spas, education, water treatment, environmental monitoring, etc. Up to 3 points of Auto Calibration with auto buffer recognition and 0 to 50˚C Auto Temperature Compensation (ATC), 0.01 mS/±1% F.S, 0.5˚C accuracy with measuring range of 0-200.0 µS/cm, 0-2000 µS/cm, 0-20.00 mS/cm, 0-50.0˚C.

APERA's unique BPB (Brush-Resistant Platinum Black) sensor adopts a special processing technology, which minimizes electrode polarization, expands measuring range, and increases firmness of the electrode, hence ensuring a much higher accuracy and consistency in a wide-range conductivity measurement than traditional stainless steel electrodes, and is easy to clean. The probe is replaceable and easy to install so that you don’t have to buy a whole new meter once the probe retires.

Auto recognition and indication of stable values improves consistency, saving you the trouble of guessing when to manually hold measurement. With an large clear 180˚ viewing angle screen with 2 backlit color (blue for measuring mode and green for calibration mode), it supports dual display of temp./EC value and indications of completed calibrations (where M/H indicate 2 points of calibrations) and stable readings (with a smiley face).

Easy menu setting, customizing your tester functions according to your needs (switch of temperature unit, TDS factor setting, Switch of salinity unit, auto hold on/off). Smart self-diagnosis, warning of out-of-range/preset measurement and incorrect calibrations.

Comes with a complete kit. IP67 waterproof and dustproof, floating on water. 1000 hours' continuous operation powered by AAA batteries (with low power warning and auto power off in 8 min if no operation).

Warranty: 2 years for the meter, 6 months for the probe.

This thing is awesome! Works very well, it's accurate, easy to read, and easy to use. I'm happy with my purchase. I had never used an EC meter before and was always running into issues with my plant's, overfeeding/underfeeding and with this I've been able to monitor my nutrients and now everything is fine. This thing is a life saver and changes everything. just buy it, you won't be disappointed. I ended up buying the PH60 and the EC60 meter separate, both work great. Not sure if I should have just gotten the PC60 5 in 1, but oh well I'm happy. Another thing is the customer service, really helpful and very quick to respond. Thank you Apera Instruments.
Good tools for Enviro
This is an exceptionally well made instrument. It is packaged perfectly in a latchable case, with easy instructions for its use. (Including a "cheat sheet" which lives in the lid)

I don't have a need for the Conductivity test which is more appropriate for Hydroponics, but I absolutely have great use for the TDS and Salinity measurements, both for my soil, and for my Aquaponics system.

Specifically, I test for salinity and TDS in the return water to our fish from the media and raft beds. This is to insure that the water returning does not have excess salts or disolved solids that are not being removed by the plants, worms and beds. The instrument is easy to use for this purpose, and gives highly accurate readings.

The other use I have is for salinity levels of raw Coco Coir bricks, peat moss, and other soil products. Many coir manufacturers do not fully rinse their product before bricking and shipping, and we have found very damaging levels of salinity for plant development in some coirs. Up until this instrument, it was a guessing game as to how many times to rinse coir before trusting it in soil mixes. Not any more! We can now test after each rinse until we feel we have reached a salinity level appropriate for our growing mediums. Excellent!

We also test for TDS and Salinity coming our of our well...before and after going through a Reverse Osmosis system that feeds water to our aquaponics. Inside the house...from our tap water, we test TDS as well...so this instrument has a LOT of uses!

Well made, excellent design, accurate, and easy. Highly recommended if you have need for these measurements!
I've recently become a huge fan of this brand and have been swapping out all of my pH and other meters with these thanks to the reliability and specificity of measurements. This one is going to be dedicated to my koi fish - as anyone who has ever fallen in love with these graceful and beautiful creatures knows, they can get rather large and represent a rather significant investment in terms of time, money, equipment etc...and frankly, given their lifespan, its easy to get attached. After a recent disaster was adverted, I started getting more serious about the quality of water. This is a great combination between easy to read (smiley face!) and solid/accurate results - much more reliable than the prior ones I'd been using. As always, comes with a protective hard case for easy organization. Really a nice, affordable and reliable brand.
