I had just gotten a lower-cost meter from another company that I couldn't calibrate, and my emails to the manufacturer were answered in such a lazy fashion that I gave up and threw it out. Then I got this beauty. I wanted a meter for testing soil samples, because I don't like using the little powder capsules in low-cost pH testing kits. This pH meter gives me a reading in seconds.

I have two meters from this company (the other is the PC60, used specifically for aqueous solutions), and when I used them both to test water, the readings were not identical. This meter is designed primarily for testing pH and ORP in solids and semi-solids for the food industry. But this meter accepts three different heads: PH60, PH60F and the included PH60S. I would suggest that if you want accurate results when testing aqueous solutions, that you get a sensor designed specifically for that.

I created the video to show you how to calibrate the meter and move through the parameter functions. I also demonstrate testing the soil of my garden beds and my kaffir lime tree, which is having health issues. This meter is going to make it so easy for me to keep track of what's happening in my soil. And the company is a pleasure to work with. They were very helpful when I called with some questions. I highly recommend this meter.
Over the years I've owned several standard generic pH meters and finally found this brand for liquids...and then this premium pH meter for solids. Admittedly, not everyone will get giddy excited by a this product but giddy is exactly what came to mind...there is absolutely nothing not to like. First, this comes boxed in a hard case for easy and secure storage. Next, the kit is complete with directions (more on that in a moment), calibration, tips etc...everything you need to get started is included. Now about the instructions - this is a bit more tricky than a standard unit and not quite as intuitive despite the directions. I would suggest pulling up some video or additional instructions via YouTube or Apera’s website if you are unfamiliar - maybe its just me but I found this a tad more tricky. In any case, this has an easy to see display - good visibility and no complaints in that area whatsoever. I'll update if this shows any signs of problems but build is solid and don't anticipate any issues.
You get what you paid for and this product is WORTH it! From the prompt delivery of the product and the quality of the packaging, you knew this pH meter was going to be reliable. I had issued with calibration and luckily the company is locally based in Ohio. Met the manager of the company who assisted me in the calibration of the pH meter. I was able to test on sushi rice with ease. Also has user friendly guide and support services available to answer your questions. The service was OUTSTANDING. Price is secondary if the quality and service is excellent. I would HIGHLY recommend restaurant industry owners to consider this company/product for pH testing, if needed. I had purchased a lower end pH meter from a DIFFERENT company/seller, and it would not calibrate correct nor accurately for sushi rice. They will have video tutorials coming soon!
