I tested 4 differrent water samples.
1- home tap water : 150 ppm
2- Brita water pitcher ( poured with tap water) : 120 ppm
3- Wellsely farm bottled water: 0.8 ppm
4- Zerowater water pitcher: 0.3 ppm

I will return Brita water pitcher to Costco!! and keep using my Zerowater pitcher and I will keep buying bottled water from Bj's club!
Dont think I dont like Costco! I love it because of their organic ground beef!
Excellent meter. I live in the desert so knowing the TDS levels in my drinking water is important to me. Additionally one can easily determine how well the filtering systems are working with this meter. I have found it quite amazing that some of the "filters" really don't remove nearly as much as they claim to. The calibration on this meter is a process but not too overly difficult. The auto temp variation is important and saves a lot of time in not having to deal with water temp. The kit comes complete and ready to use with all needed solutions included that are needed for calibration. It makes testing water very easy and makes you want to test all the water you drink. Has low battery and incorrect calibration notifications built in which take the guess work out of things. Also has a water temp compensation. Very handy tool,
Recommended.
This kit from Apera Instruments might be almost overkill for everyday quick readings of TDS levels in that it does some setting up before you can start. This takes about 20 minutes, but then you can go wild with testing. TDS levels out of whack indicate problems and require more in-depth testing, but this is an important first step in finding out if there IS a problem. Love this kit!
